Virgil R. Shoger

Virgil R. Shoger, 90, of Rochelle passed away July 29, 2009 at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford. Virgil was born October 14, 1918 in Yorkville, Il. Son of Harley and Alice Shoger. He married Joy Cobb April 6, 1946 in Seven Oaks, England. Virgil was a Veteran of WWII, he flew for 8th Air Force 492nd Bomb Group. More details at www.492ndbombgroup.com. He is survived by two sons, Ron (Nancy) Shoger of St. Charles, Il., and Jack Shoger of Fontana, Wi.; one daughter, Susan (Scott) Keizer of Fruita, Co.; one brother, Harley Shoger of Aurora, Il.; one sister Phyllis Makholm of Stevenspoint, Wi.; two granddaughters and four grandsons. He is preceded in death by his wife, Joy; one son, Michael L. Shoger; three sisters and two brothers. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday August 7, 2009 at Elim Reformed Church in Kings, Il., with Rev. Gerald Dykstra officiating. Interment White Rock Cemetery, Kings, Il..
