"Sally" L.M. Vogeler

“Sally” L.M. Vogeler, 84, of Ashton, passed away November 3, 2008 at Franklin Grove Nursing Center. Sally was born October 29, 1924 in Dixon, Il., daughter of Jesse and Nettie (Nicklaus) Sarver. She married Arland Vogeler July 14, 1942 in Ashton, Il. She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn (Merle) Meurer of Ashton; one son, Richard Vogeler Sr. of Rockford; four grandchildren, Richard (Stacy) Vogeler Jr. of Ashton, Angela (John) Cudmore of Naperville, Dean Meurer of Ashton, Chad (Michelle) Meurer of Ashton; three great-grandsons, Tom Vogeler, Jr., Ethan Vogeler and Mitch Meurer all of Ashton; two great-granddaughters, Allison Cole and Emalie Vogeler of Ashton; one brother; Frank Pettinger, Jr.; one sister, Betty Gentry; one sister-in-law, Shirley Bridgeman; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband; one grandson, Tom Vogeler Sr.; one granddaughter, Sheri (Jeff) Cole; one great granddaughter Grace Cole; four sisters, Shirley Cuzzone, Melva They, Dode Noble and Nellie Bates; one brother Wes Bridgeman. Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday November 5, 2008 at Reynolds United Methodist Church in Ashton with Pastor Brett Todd officiating. Interment Ashton Cemetery. A one hour visitation will be held at the church prior to service. Memorials may be made to Reynolds United Methodist Church and/or Ashton rescue squad.
