Laura G. Thornton

Laura G. Thornton, 90, of Rochelle passed away November 26, 2008 at home surrounded by family. Laura was born April 8, 1918 in Creston, Il. daughter of Calvin and Florence Long. She married Gale Thornton on November 6, 1942 in Kahoka, MO. Survivors include her husband, Gale; two daughters, Catherine Lee (George) Carey of Elizabethton, Tenn. and Jennifer Kim Thornton of Chicago, Il.; one Brother, Donald (Harriet) Long of Fallbrook, Ca. Grandmother of Benjamin, Andrew and Abigail Carey. Preceded in death by three brothers, Virgil, Lee and Darrel Long. Graveside service will be 11:00 am Monday December 1, 2008 at Ashton Cemetery, Ashton, Il., with Pastor Brett Todd officiating. Visitation will be held 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm Sunday November 30, 2008 at Coulon-Lyons Family Funeral Home 704 N. 6th Street, Rochelle 815-562-6872.
