Joyce E. Linscott, 68, of Ashton passed away March 20, 2009 at home. She was born October 27, 1940 in Polo, Il., the daughter of Corydon and Beulah Deyo. Joyce married Darrel Linscott may 16, 1987 at Ashton United Methodist Church. Joyce was selected as the Outstanding Trainee of her company upon graduating from basic training at the ‘Women’s Army Corps Center’ at Fort McClellan, Alabama. She was a Medical Technician in the “WAC”. Upon completion of her time in the Army, Joyce was a Respiratory Therapist in New Jersey. She moved to California where she worked at Stanford University, where she was the top most Respiratory Therapist in charge of the department. She is survived by her husband, Darrel, of Ashton; two brothers, Floyd (Heather) Deyo, of Worth, Il., and Jimmy Nicholson, of Rockford, Il.; one sister, Charmaine Steve, of Dixon, Il., and her very special friend, Sara Vancil; and her precious cat Gracie, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Charlie Deyo, and one sister Joni Wilcox. Funeral services will be held 10:30 am Thursday March 26 at Coulon-Lyons Family Funeral Home 601 Richardson Ave, Ashton 815-453-2441. Pastor Dana LaBerge will officiate. Burial at Ashton Cemetery.
