Aileen Cluts

Aileen Cluts,93 , of Rochelle, passed away March 10, at Rochelle Rehabilitation & Health Care Center. Aileen was born July 20, 1915, daughter of Emma Hansen and August Jensen. She married Merle Cochrane Cluts July 24, 1946 in Codington County Farm, South Dakota Aileen graduated from Aberdeen South Dakota Teacher’s College. She taught in Merton Township Rural Clark S.D., Garden City, S.D. and Brookings, S.D. She was a Elder for First Presbyterian Church of Rochelle, a member of Rochelle schools volunteer program and Rochelle Hospital Auxiliary. Aileen is survived by one son, Marlin (Catherine) Cluts of Rochelle; two grandchildren, Jason Merle Cluts of St. Louis and Geoffrey Cluts of Normal, Il.; one sister, Evelyn Milliken of Scottsdale, AZ. She is preceded in death by her husband, Merle. Friends and family will gather for Funeral Services at the First Presbyterian Church of Rochelle Friday March 13, 2009 at 11:00 am, with Rev. Dr. John Hamilton officiating. Burial at Lawnridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held 10:00 am until time of service at the church. Aileen’s husband, Merle preceded her in death just 10 days earlier. Due to the short time in between, the family is considering memorials and remembrances made in Merle’s name to also be in Aileen’s name and therefore the family requests the omission of additional memorials or remembrances.
