Carol Kaye Wurst

Carol Kaye Wurst, 80, of Sandwich, IL met her Lord and entered heaven in the early morning hours of Thursday, February 13, 2020. She was born on December 8, 1939 in Streator, IL the daughter of Harrison and Harriette (Wakeman) Cannon. She was a graduate of East Peoria HS class of 1957. She worked at various jobs throughout her life as a bookkeeper and accounting – Grimm’s Drug Store in Boulder Hill, and All Steel in Montgomery, IL. Her favorite jobs were those in retail, Hornsby’s Family Center in Yorkville, IL, but mostly the craft fairs. She loved to decorate and made beautiful floral arrangements and wreaths, she participated in many craft fairs throughout the years.

Carol is survived and will be greatly missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Dan Carr; Grandsons, Kevin (Amanda) Carr and Kyle Carr; Great grandchildren, Jocelyn, Kody and Alayna Carr, all of Sandwich, IL. As well as her sister, Dianne (Brad) Johnson of Prescott Valley, Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harrison and Harriette Cannon; Her son, Scott Wallace; And her grandson, Korey Carr.

A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, February 17, 2020 at Beverage Family Funeral Home, 104 Terry St. Sandwich, IL 60548. Visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. with pastor Derek Johnsen officiating.

The family would like to thank Dr. Nandra and staff, Dr. Qadir and staff, Hillside Nursing Home and staff and the doctors and nurses at Rush Copley for their care and love.

Memorials in her name may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
