Charles (Chuck) Russell Meurer, of Ashton, passed away peacefully into the loving arms of His Savior on June 1, 2021.
Chuck was born on December 10, 1939, in Amboy, the son of Russell and Elvina Meurer. Chuck married Pauline Weishaar on February 10, 1962 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Ashton, IL.
He was better known to his family and friends as “Chuck or “Charlie”. He lived in the Ashton area and was a lifelong farmer and was best known for raising pigs. He loved planting and harvesting the crops but took special joy in taking care of his livestock.
His faith was the cornerstone of his being. He raised his family to put God first in everything they did. He never met someone that didn’t soon become a friend. Chuck lived his life often in service to others. His family and friends were his highest priority. His eternal home is secured by his relationship and faith in Christ. His Family is certain he is tending to the sheep with Jesus now and waiting for our eventual reunion with him. Until we meet again.
Chuck held many positions of service including the National Guard (Dixon), Lee County Pork Producers – President, 4-H leader of 20 plus years, Sunday School teacher, Ashton School Board member, Lee County Representative for Marketers to Washington, DC, Pioneer Seed Salesman and various church positions.
