Clara Ruth Jones

Clara Ruth Jones, 89, of Sandwich, Illinois, went home to our Lord and Savior on November 14, 2024. Ruth was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord and her family dearly.

She was born on August 14, 1935 to John and Mary Bell and grew up in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She married James “Jim” Jones in 1959 and they had 51 wonderful years together before his death in 2010. Ruth worked at Plano Molding as an executive secretary, retired to Lake Charles to work at a daycare center and volunteered at her church.

Ruth loved to spend time outdoors gardening and a favorite pastime was playing dominos with friends.

Ruth is survived by her children Denise (Dean) Schell of Sandwich, her son Brian (Deanna) of Sugar Grove, grandchildren Chad, Bobby, Kristi, Stephanie, Nick and Danielle; great grandchildren Ashley, Courtney, Amanda, Alyssa, Grayson and Maisie; great-great grandchildren Jaxson, Kenna, Stevie, Cain and Reese; sister Freda Schexneider of Lake Charles, Louisiana, sister-in-law Mary Jones of Plano, Illinois and several nieces and nephews.

Ruth was proceeded in death by James “Jim” Jones, son George Jones, parents John and Mary Bell, brother John, sister Mary Lou, many brothers and sisters-in-law and several nephews.

Our heartfelt thanks go out to the amazing staff at Pavilion on Main, Unity Hospice for their excellent care and a special thank you to her great-granddaughter, Alyssa, for her wonderful CNA care, hand- holding and extra love during this difficult time.

A celebration of life will be at a later date.
