Dale A. Maitland

Dale A. Maitland, 83, of Somonauk, IL passed away on October 12, 2023. Dale was born on August 1, 1940 in Rockford, IL to Kenneth and Natalie (Fisher) Maitland.

Dale was a farm worker for many years until he got the job to manage a car wash. He enjoyed playing cards and was an avid Chicago Bears fan. He loved watching the Bears and lived to see the 1st win of the year. Dale married Lorena (Laurie) Iverson and they have been together for almost 50 years.

Dale is survived by his wife, Laurie; 2 sisters, Kay Vanstone of Montana and Bonnie Partlow of Arizona; 3 sisters-in-law, Bertha (Ted) Smith of Leland, IL, Nancy (Larry Green) Ensor of Sheridan, IL and Bernie (John) Weymouth of Earlville, IL; 2 brothers-in-law, Bob Guelde of Leland, IL and Carl Kiest of Leland, IL; Numerous nieces and nephews; His faithful companion, his dog, Rizzo; As well as his extended family of neighbors.

He is preceded in death by his parents; His mother-in-law, Ada Iverson; 3 sisters-in-law, Barb Nelson, Pat Guelde and Linda Kiest; 3 brothers-in-law, Bill Vanstone, Butch Partlow and Dave Nelson; As well as his dog, Otis T, who was a faithful and loyal follower.
