Darlyne L. Lakeman, aged 69, passed away on February 12, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 14, 1953, in Snyder, Texas, Darlyne was the daughter of Billy Ray and Delores (Handte) Warneke.
Growing up in Illinois, Darlyne attended East High School, graduating in 1972. Throughout her life, Darlyne built lasting relationships, both in her personal and professional life. She spent over 20 years working at Solar Press and The Label Printers, where she made many dear friends.
Darlyne’s love of life extended to her many hobbies and interests. She cherished fishing with her husband Lee, often spending weekends at Sucker Lake in Ely, Minnesota. A devoted Steelers fan, she spent many afternoons watching and learning about the game with her family.
However, Darlyne’s greatest love was her yard, which she transformed into a breathtaking display of colors and beauty. Her green thumb and dedication to her garden were a source of pride and joy for all who knew her.
Darlyne was preceded in death by her parents, Delores and John Silagi; Billy Ray Warneke; Her son, Joshua Bumbar; And her sister-in-law, Janet Gibson. She is survived by her beloved husband of 29 years, Lee Lakeman; And her brothers, Mike (Kelly) and Kevin (Donna). Darlyne was also a loving mother to her sons, Tony (Kristin), Christopher (Malia), and Ronald, and her stepson, Chris (Tara). She was adored by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and her in-laws, Sandi (Bob), Diane (Steve), and Linda (Steve).
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered love and support during this difficult time. Darlyne’s warm spirit, unwavering kindness, and selfless love will be deeply missed. Heaven has gained a beautiful angel, and the world is a lesser place without her.
A celebration of Darlyne’s life will be held at a later date, where her friends and family can gather to remember her and share their memories of this wonderful woman.
