Edward O. Plante

Edward Oscar Plante, 64, of Sandwich, IL passed away on October 19, 2022. Ed was born on April 1, 1958 in Rantoul, IL to Eugene and Thora (DeWeese) Plante. Ed was very passionate about classic American Muscle cars, fishing, and his number one priority in his life, his family. Ed was always tinkering about in the garage, known to his friends and family as Mr. Fix-It.  Ed lived his life always putting others before himself.  The phrase “ jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one” could not describe Fast Eddie in a more appropriate manner. 

Ed is survived by his wife, Mary Plante; 2 children, Rebecca Plante of Chicago, IL and Jessica Plante of Sandwich, IL; 1 fur baby, Callee; 3 grand dogs, Knox, Sabi and André; 2 brothers-in-law, Donald (Betty) Hoff and Chuck (Suzi) Marmitt; 2 sisters-in-law, Deborah (Ron) Bronski and Patricia (Dan) Sullivan; As well as several cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. at Beverage Family Funeral Home, 104 Terry Street Sandwich, IL 60548. A funeral service will take place immediately afterward at 12:00 P.M. with a graveside service to follow out to Oak Mound Cemetery in Somonauk, IL.
