Eugene G Newkirk

Eugene G. Newkirk, 85, of Plano, IL passed away on April 5th, 2018 at Hillside Rehab and Care Center in Yorkville, IL. He was born on November 2, 1932 in Plano, IL to Joseph Newkirk and Rena (Ackley) Newkirk. Eugene was united in marriage to the former Miss Rose Mary Moutray on July 7, 1956 and they spent the next 51 happy years together until her passing on August 27th, 2007. Eugene was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served in England during the Korean War. He was a member of the Plano American Legion Post #395 for over 60 years. Eugene was a member of the United Methodist Church of Plano. He was self employed as a general contractor and plumber for many years. Eugene was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather and brother who will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Eugene is survived by his son, Jeffrey (Marcia) Newkirk; His Grandsons, Adam Newkirk, William (Susan) Newkirk and Timothy (Nicolette Geihm) Newkirk; His Great-Grandsons, Zackary and Caleb; His sister, Marjorie Jornlin; as well as several nieces and nephews. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father, Joseph Goddard; His wife, Rose Mary Newkirk; His brother, Leroy “Ed” Newkirk; And his sister, Rena “Sally” Anderson. Funeral services and internment were held privately. Arrangements were made by Beverage Family Funeral Home at 104 Terry St Sandwich, IL 60548.
