Francis (Butch) J. Dewey Jr.

Francis J. “Butch” Dewey Jr. 81 of Ft. Myers, FL. passed away June 23, 2021. He was born on January 22, 1940 in Aurora, IL to the late Francis J and Margaret L. nee Kelsey Dewey Sr.

Butch graduated high School from Plano Community High School. Butch’s folks purchased the Arts Royal Blue which he took over and ran for 40 years, later becoming Art’s Food Market, over that period of time he enjoyed all his customers and employees who became his friends, he was such a generous soul to all who knew him and was loving and embracing father to his children and his family. After retirement golf was his passion and pass time enjoying his buddies on the links. He was a great storyteller and enjoyed conversations and cooking. One of Butch’s enjoyment in his younger years was farming.

He is survived by his children; Marjorie (Angelo) Kleronomos of Yorkville, Kathie Cannon of Ft. Myers, FL., Joseph (Laurie) Dewey of Little Rock and Steve (Lisa) Powers of Boston, MA.

1 sister Cynthia Westbrook of Somonauk, IL.

Grandchildren; Jacob, Madison, Carl, Russ, Van, Christen, Dean (Kim), Katherine ,Carolyn ( John), Lauren (Paul Loban) and Elizabeth (Cameron). 2 great grandchildren Adalie and Peyton and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Karen 2014.

A private memorial service will be held this fall.
