Fred James Sartore, 59, of Somonauk, IL, formerly of Melrose Park, IL, passed away on August 9, 2024, at Morris Hospital surrounded by loved ones after a sudden, brief illness and is at peace with the Lord.
Fred was born Nov. 24, 1964, in Chicago, IL to Ralph and Margaret (LaBounty) Sartore.
He was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and fiancé. Through the hardships of his life, he found joy and laughter with his large, extended family and friends and in his love of music, both as a vocalist and a band member. He spent countless happy hours with his fiancée, Judy, during this past year including a final trip with family to his favorite fishing spot in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He was a dedicated Tool and Die designer, perfecting his craft over many years. Every person who knew Fred became a lifelong friend. He was loved ‘More than Words’ and will be remembered for his kindness and perseverance in the face of difficult times. The family will hold a celebration of life and love at a future date.
Fred is survived and will be dearly missed by his fiancée, Judy Garner of Newark, IL; his children, Kimberly (Michael) Gallichio, Jacqueline Sartore and Christopher Sartore; grandchildren, Dylan Sartore and Gianluca Gallichio; parents, Ralph and Margaret Sartore of Somonauk, IL (formerly of Melrose Park, IL); sisters, Renée (David) Beer of Plano, IL and Jeannette (Shawn) Newlin of Somonauk, IL; a cousin who grew up as a sister, Sara (Cimino) Willeford; a close aunt, Lida Cimino; his nieces and nephew, Maggie, Dora, Luke and Gianna; as well as many other aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is preceded in death by an infant son, James Sartore; grandparents, James (Jack) and Jenny Sartore and Fred and Margaret LaBounty; as well as an aunt, Jacqueline Castellano.
