Helen Flora Malone

Helen Flora Malone of Wheaton, IL passed away peacefully on 8/17/2020.  Helen was born to Matthew William Malone and Helen Viola (Gedwell) Malone in Elmhurst, IL on 1/26/1935.  Helen never married.  She was predeceased by her brother Patrick Daniel Malone (Morgins, Switzerland) and sister, Marie M. Coffey (Albuquerque, NM).  She is survived by Cousin Grace Fill and six nieces and nephews, Frank Coffey (Denver, CO), Cindy McGill (Albuquerque, NM), Janet Hrncir (Cave Creek, AZ), Mark Malone (Leon, France), Philip Malone and Ann Malone (Valais, Switzerland).   

Helen had resided at DuPage Care Center, Wheaton, Il where she was fond of gardening, choir, attending services in the chapel, and spending time with her many friends. Previously, she had been a long-time resident of Glen Ellyn, IL, where she attended Glenbard (West) H.S., and worked for several years as a secretary at the Chicago Division of the FBI.  After her mother died in 1962, Helen and her father enjoyed spending time at their cabin in Oregon, IL, canoeing on the Rock River, gardening at home in Glen Ellyn, and traveling. Helen will be missed by her family and her many friends, especially Peggy and Dick Lami, whose loyalty and support were always appreciated.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 21, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at Beverage Family Funeral Home, 104 Terry Street, Sandwich, IL 60548. Because of COVID, funeral services will be limited to close family and friends, but the service will be recorded and published onto her obituary page on the funeral homes website located here (https://www.beveragefamilyfh.com/obituary/helen-malone) for viewing later on the same day. Interment will be at St. Michael's Cemetery, Wheaton, IL following the service.
