Ismael Rivera Guevara, 64 of Rochelle, IL passed away suddenly on October 26, 2023. He was born on April 28^th 1959 in Humacao, Puerto Rico. Son of Fransico Rivera and Isabel Guevara. Ismael also know as Smiley had a very sociable and uplifting spirit that would make anyone smile and laugh when they spent time together. He always had cheesy jokes to make people around him laugh. He was a hardworking man that even after early retirement, he still worked part time at Del Monte Foods. He loved spending time with his family and his children, playing outdoor games. He enjoyed cornhole, horseshoes and giant Jenga. He also enjoyed playing Guesstures, Loteria and other board games. He enjoyed attending family functions and making lasting memories with everyone, by making them laugh and getting everyone to talk and get everyone involved even when they may not want to play the game. Not only was he outgoing with his family but also with his friends and anyone he got to know. He loved to dance and listen to music until his heart was content. He was a great and loving father that was survived by his children, Ismael Rivera Jr., Estrellita Rivera, Manuel Fransico Rivera (Rochelle), Mathew and granddaughter Karrma Michelle Rivera. Siblings, Elba Rivera Guevara (sister), Heriberto Rivera (brother), David Rivera (brother), Edwin Rivera from Humacao (brother), Puerto Rico. Angel (aka Yuyo Rap) Luis Rivera (brother) from Florida, Luis (aka Papo) Manuel Rivera of Dekalb, IL. Hermana de corazón, Wilma J. Cordero.

He is preceded in death by his parents and also his life partner Irma Estella Losoya, they will be dance together again. One sister Medelicia Rivera and his two brothers Anibal Rivera and Francisco Rivera of Humacao, Puerto Rico.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Beverage-Lyons Family Funeral Home, 704 N. 6^th St. Rochelle, IL 61068. A visitation will also be held on Friday, November 3, 2023 from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home with a service at 5:00 P.M. on Friday.
