James (Jimmy) Edward Leigh

James (Jimmy) Leigh IV was born in Rockford, Illinois on July 26,1956 to James E. Leigh,Jr and Velma Neely Leigh. 

Jimmy was a hard worker, having worked at Rochelle country school, DelMonte, Sinnissippi as a janitor and several other jobs where he enjoyed serving others. Jimmy was a member of First Baptist church of Rochelle we he was very adamant that “the lord’s church was to be kept clean and respected”. 

Jimmy loved people and people loved Jimmy. One of his favorite things to do was have breakfast at the Iron Skillet with the Men’s Bible Study Group. Jimmy’s life was made whole when his caretaker, Pam Cushing, came into his life. She treated him like a brother. He considered Mr. Mitchell his dad and friend. 

Jimmy is survived by one brother Keith (Julia) of Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Velma, and his grandparents, James and Lavilla Leigh. 

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 15th at 10:00 A.M. at First Baptist church in Rochelle, Illinois. Inurnment will take place at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle.
