James ( Jingle ) Robert Allen

James Robert Allen (Jingle) 94 , of Sandwich, IL. passed away on October 6, 2018 at Willow Crest Pavilion. He was born to John and Tollie (Anderson) Allen on February 2, 1924 in Harrisburg, IL.

He served in the Navy during WWII, was a member of the Sandwich VFW Post 1486, Sandwich Moose Lodge 1056 for over 50 years, and Sandwich Masonic Meteor Lodge 283. He was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. He worked and retired as a union Carpenter.

He is survived by his daughter Vicki Choate of Yorkville, 1 stepdaughter Cynthia (John) Schmidt of Montgomery, IL, his sisters, June (Russell) Scott, and Judy (Paul) Brandow, 2 brothers Sidney (Mitzi) and David (Peg), his grandchildren, Ron, Brandi and James, his 11 great grandchildren, his sister-in-law Marlene Allen, and several nieces and nephews,

 He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Bonnie in 1984, his second wife Shirley in 2011, his son Gary, his brothers; Ralph (Maxine), Joe ( Irene Allen – Klotz ), Harold (Joyce), Byford (Delores) Wilburn (Bill), and Ruben,

Funeral services will be held on Friday October 12, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church with Pastor David Kaul officiating.

Visitation will be held two hours prior from 9:30-11:30 at the Church.

Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Sandwich.
