James Clifton Moody

James Clifton Moody was born on September 14th, 1952 in Louisville, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Clifton Moody, his mother, Louise Elizabeth Summers, and brother, Robert Lee Moody. James was the oldest of three children. James passed away on August 24, 2020. James Moody grew up on a farm. He knew what hard work was from a very young age. After high school, he worked for many years at the steel mills in Northern Indiana to pay for his schooling to become a teacher. He began his teaching career at Gary Roosevelt High School in Gary, Indiana and retired from teaching at Naperville North High School in Naperville, Illinois. He taught social studies for almost 30 years. He also was a dedicated coach for track and field leading his teams to many State championships. He took pride in all he did and loved sharing stories of the accomplishments of his students and athletes.

James is survived by his three children, Johanna (Moody) McKinney, Sara (Moody) Hightower, son, Tedd Moody, sister, Kathryn James and his grandchildren.

He was a loving and fun grandfather to all his grandchildren. James always went out of his way to help those he loved and cared about. He was giving and selfless of his time, supporting all those around him.
