It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Jean Kay Williams, 74, who passed away on April 14th, 2025. Jean was born on March 28th, 1951 in Rochelle, IL to Erwin “Shorty” and Virginia “Ginny” Hackman.
Jean was employed at Northern Illinois University from 2000, where she continued to work until her passing. Jean enjoyed sewing, volunteering at the Moose, nurturing stray animals and traveling to spend time with family. Nothing surpassed her love for cooking and baking, especially for her friends and family. When a guest entered her house, they were leaving with a heart full of love and Tupperware full of leftovers. When she wasn’t baking, she was devoting her time with her family. Jean did not miss a milestone in any of her children’s, grandchildren’s, or great-grandchildren’s lives. As the matriarch of the family, she offered sound advice while providing an open ear in the event that was all someone needed.
She is preceded in death by her parents; One brother, Mike Hackman; And a sister-in-law, Shirlean Hackman.
She is survived by her three sons Timothy (Mallissia) Ellis of Ashton. IL, Gary (Julie) Ellis or Rochelle, IL and Jeff (Toria) Ellis of Ardmore, OK, her grandchildren Jessica (Jeff) Guida, Kaitlyn (Ethan) Chandler, Marissa Ellis, Kimberly (Jordan) Smith, Aaron Ellis, and Brooke (Dylan) Calvert, along with her great-grandchilren Branson, Adelynn, Kennedie, Abri, Salem, Lincoln, Elia, Isley, and Maverick and her brothers Greg (Gisella) Hackman, Steve Hackman and Terry (Renee) Hackman.
