Jimmie Wayne Long

Jimmie Wayne Long, 74, of Ashton, IL, passed away on March 11, 2022. Jimmie was born on April 15, 1947 in Auburndale, FL to James and Lou Ellen (Ingram) Long. Jimmie drove truck for a living. He loved hunting and training his hunting dogs. He enjoyed cooking and shooting guns. He was a Youth Director and Deacon at Zion Baptist Church in Aurora, IL. He was a Chicago Bears and White Sox fan. His biggest joy though, was his family.

Jimmie is survived by his wife, Cathy; 2 children, Jason Long of Sycamore, IL and Matthew Long of Sycamore, IL; 2 grandchildren, Sydney and Jayson; As well as 1 brother, Jerry Long of Loretto, TN.

He is preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, Kenny Long.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. at the Ashton Bible Church, 702 Main St. Ashton, IL 61006. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 P.M.
