Katherine Jean Kida

Katherine Jean Kida (Gillan) passed away on June 1, 2021. Katherine was born on September 11, 1943 in St Paul, MN. She graduated from Portage High School in Indiana. She worked for many years managing currency exchanges in Chicago, and traveled to other cities to help establish new businesses. She also worked for the State of Indiana motor vehicles department in Lafayette, IN. She was also a long time Wal-Mart cashier in Dixon. In her retirement, she volunteered in the Chaplains office at KSB hospital and also was the volunteer representative to the hospital board. She was a member of St Patrick's Catholic Church in Dixon. She loved her cats, her friends, and above all her grandson.

She is preceded in death by her beloved son Frank, parents Joseph and Beatrice Gillan, sisters Betty, Pat, and brother Bobby.

She is survived by her son Andrew (Kristen) Kida, grandson Cameron, her best friend and sister Marsha Licko (Gillan), Goddaughter and niece Kari (Ed) Faccio (Licko), many nieces and nephews, and a great number of friends. 

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 7, 2021 from 3:00 – 8:00 PM at the Beverage-Lyons Family Funeral Home, 601 Richardson Avenue, Ashton, IL 61006. A limited chapel service will be held on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Justice, IL. Donations beyond the cost of expenses will be given to the Ashton Fire Protection Department.
