Kathy Powell

Kathy A. Powell, age 72, beloved mother and grandmother of Dixon Illinois, formerly of Aurora, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at OSF Saint Katharine Medical Center. She worked at Kreider Services for 15+ years. She loved watching scary movies, spending time with her family and enjoying her morning cup of tea. Kathy was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on October 10,1952, the daughter of Roy and Betty (Lemons) Sears. She married Roy Roger Powell Sr. at The Church of God in Aurora, on December 7, 1968. 

Kathy is survived by her children, Tina M. (Don) Baker of Lockport and Michael R. (Angela) Powell of Franklin Grove, IL; Daughter-in-law, Lisa (Cole) Powell; 7 grandchildren, Joshua Baker, Courtney Baker, Kellyann Powell, Carly Powell, Kami Powell, Aurther Powell and Lexy Powell; As well as 2 step-grandchildren, Angel Baker and DJ Baker.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Roy R. Powell Sr.; Son, Roy R. Powell Jr.; Parents, Roy and Betty; 2 sisters, Mina McCombs and Debbie Elains; As well as 2 brothers, Dennis Sears and Troy Albright.

There are no services per her wishes.
