Larry Lee LaSourd

Larry Lee LaSourd, 81, of Sandwich, IL passed away on January 10, 2020. Larry was born on August 12, 1938 in Woodbine, IA to Glenn Lasourd and Mildred (Nielson) Brown. He was raised on his grandparent’s, Hattie and John Westphalen, farm in Spencer, IA. After graduation at 18, he enlisted in the US Airforce and served from 1956 – 1969. After honorable discharge, he moved to Iowa City and worked for Brown’s Flooring (owned by his step-father) while attending school to receive his degree for dental technician. He moved to North Aurora, IL and worked for Aurora Dental Arts Laboratory from 1972 and retired in 2003. Then he worked security for Copley Memorial Hospital, and after retiring again, volunteered at Rush Copley. He also volunteered at Waubonsee Community College. He traveled in retirement following Lunar eclipses, traveling to Libya, Russia and China.

Larry is survived by his children, Lonnie (Trina) LaSourd, Renea (Jeff) Head and Craig LaSourd; Grandchildren, Amanda (John) Twait, Daniel LaSourd, Angela (Ryan) Robinson, David (Stephanie) Head, Megan (Michael) Johnson, Katelynn Head, Jeanna LaSourd and Wyatt LaSourd; Many great-grandchildren; And sister, Candy (Sam) Tuttle and Penny Brown and their children and grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, step-parents, and grandparents.

Visitation will be held Friday January 17, 2020 from 10:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. at Beverage Family Funeral Home, 104 Terry St. Sandwich, IL 60548. funeral service will follow at 12:00 P.M. with graveside to follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Sandwich, IL.
