Laverne John Jensen

Laverne J. Jensen 96, of Sandwich passed away February 22, 2020 at Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion.

Laverne was born May 20^th 1923 in Leland IL to the late John and Addie ( Nettlingham ) Jensen.

Laverne served his country during WWII with the US Army fighting in the European Campaign.

He worked for and retired at Stevens Adams in Aurora and later worked as a custodian for Sandwich School District at the Prairie View School. He enjoyed raising his chickens, gardening and going to auctions.

He is survived by his children; Michelle Vogtle of IA, Michael ( Deborah ) Jensen of Dixon, Gloria Gate of IN, Pam Ainsworth of Sandwich and Sue Hensley of IN and several grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Violet 1947, second wife Virginia 2012, sisters; Lucille, Luella, Florence, Gladys, Evelyn and brother Frank.

Graveside service will be held Saturday February 29^th 2020 at 12:00 noon at oak Ridge Cemetery Suydam Rd Sandwich with full Military honors.
