Linda M. Boyer

Linda Mae Boyer, 83, of Sandwich IL, passed away peacefully in her home on November 11,2024. 

Linda was born in Buffalo Center, Iowa, to Lillian and Lawrence Johnson on September 15th, 1941. She is a 1959 graduate of Plano High School and married her high school sweetheart, Daryl Boyer on July 10, 1960, at First Lutheran Church in Plano IL. Linda worked as a school secretary at Centennial school in Plano for over 30 years. During these years, Linda made wonderful friendships and enjoyed all the students in the classrooms.

Linda had a love of antiques; her and Daryl restored many treasures to share with family and friends throughout the years. 

During their retirement years, Linda and Daryl lived in Marshfield MO with their kitties and surrounded by five acres of beautiful wildlife. 

Linda deeply loved her family, especially her five grandchildren. Whenever family visited, Linda would welcome you with hugs and arms wide open. During the Holidays Linda baked the most delicious Christmas cutout cookies, and the entire family looked forward to these each year.

Linda is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Daryl Boyer, and her parents, Lillian and Lawrence Johnson.

Linda is survived by her children, Darrin (Kris) Boyer & Deena Hatch of Sandwich Illinois, Drew (Tammy) Boyer of Chaska MN. Her sister, Lynn (Gene) Shoultz of Clinton Iowa. Five Grandchildren, Derrick, Jarred, Hannah, Dylan, Wyatt & three Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In Lieu of flowers, donations and memorials may be given to Tails Humane Society in DeKalb, Illinois to honor Linda’s love of her fur babies.

A visitation will be held on Monday, November 25th, 2024 from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. at Beverage Family Funeral Home, 104 Terry St. Sandwich, IL 60548.

Next day, Tuesday, November 26th, 2024 at 12:30pm, a Naval Military Honors Committal Service will be held for both Linda and Daryl Boyer (deceased June 19th, 2020) at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
