Mary Frances Martin, 85, of Yorkville, IL passed away on October 22, 2021. Fran was born on October 15, 1936 in Plano, IL the daughter of Henry Thomas Osborn and Eliza Edna (Todd) Osborn. Fran was united in marriage on June 30th, 1978 to William (Bill) Martin and they spent the next 38 years enjoying life together until his passing in 2016. Her marriage to bill blessed her with a beautiful family consisting of 3 sons, 1 daughter and their families. Frans greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Fran retired from Western Electric in Montgomery, IL after 31 years of service with the company.
During their retirement years, Fran and Bill enjoyed spending the winter months at their seasonal home in the villages, Florida. It was there in the villages that Fran got a “hole in one” on the Mira Mesa course, hole #7, which was a highlight in her life. They also enjoyed many rounds of golf at Cedardell Golf Course in Plano, IL where they were members and enjoyed league play for many years.
Fran was a proud member of the Plano High School Class of 1954 And enjoyed many class reunions and outings with her classmates throughout the years.
Fran was also a member of the Plano Historical Society and a member of the Salem Evangelical Church, 1022 N. Main St. Sandwich, IL.
Fran is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara & Leonard (Skip) Stahl of Sandwich, IL; Nephews, David Teckenbrock and family, James (Leann) Teckenbrock and family, Patricia (Dave) Ballas and family, Teresa (Rick) Shaw and family, Mary Jean (Don) Mathre and family, Tammi (Doug) Westbrook and family and Dawn (Steve) Friel and family; As well as stepchildren, David and Rae Martin and family, Gregg Martin and family, Robert and Jan Martin and family and Michael Fitzpatrick and family.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Her husband, William (Bill) Curtis Martin; Sister, Betty Sue Osborn; Sister and brother-in-law, Jessie and Odis Teckenbrock; Brother, Thomas Clayton Osborn; Stepdaughter, Dawn Fitzpatrick; Grandson, Nathaniel Martin; And Granddaughter, Hakila H. (Martin) Shufelt.
Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Parkinson's Foundation.
