Melba L. Gordon

Melba Lou Gordon, 84, of Sandwich, IL passed away on November 26, 2022. Melba was born on August 10, 1938 in Myrtle, MS to Albert Forrest and Gladys Wilma (Cooper) Rhea. Melba enjoyed camping, fishing, gaming and watching he Cubs and Sox games. She also loved family gatherings. She was a member of several social clubs.

Melba is survived by children, Wanda Newby of Aurora, IL, Phyllis (Ken) Hensley of Sheridan, IL and Brian Gordon of Plano, IL; 4 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Billie Jean Scott of Memphis, TN and Frieda Joy Castaldo of Texas; A special friend, Robert Rust; As well as several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; First husband, Audrie Newby, father of Wanda and Phyllis; Second husband, Herb Gordon, father of Brian; As well as siblings, Dorothy Belle Dennis, Naomi Green, Forrest Rhea Jr., John Thomas Rhea, Betty Ruth Smart and Elva Jo Love.

There will be a private family celebration of life at a later date.
