Neil Maupin, age 84, of Plano, Illinois, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2019, at Asbury Gardens in North Aurora. He was born December 17, 1934 in Shackleford, Missouri, the son of Virginia Etter. He was raised by his grandparents Stella and H.B. Maupin in Marshall, Missouri. He was married to Patricia Maupin for 44 years until her passing on September 12, 2016. Neil worked for many years with Allis Chalmers/Deutz Allis as a manager for data processing. He enjoyed reading and gardening. Neil had a love of learning and encouraged others to follow their passion.
He is survived by his children, Virginia (Andrew) Kapral, Taylor Maupin, Jennifer (Anthony) Stoeger, and Amy (Anthony) Curtis; his grandchildren, Joshua (Sarah) Marshall, August Kapral, Melody Kapral, Rebecca (Timothy) Hohn, Dylan Klatt, Tyler Stoeger, Zachary Stoeger, and Katelyn Curtis; three great-grandchildren with one on the way; three brothers, Jerry Etter, Doug Etter, and Blake Etter; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents; his wife, Patricia; and his daughter-in-law Laura Maupin.
Arrangements are being handled by the Beverage Family Funeral Home of Sandwich, Illinois. There will be a visitation at The United Methodist Church of Plano in Plano, Illinois on November 16, 2019 from 2:30-4:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service officiated by Pastor Stevan Saunders beginning at 4:00 p.m. Memorials may be made in Neil’s name to The United Methodist Church of Plano for their Save the Windows Campaign or a charity of the donor’s choosing.
