Rachel L. Wright

Rachel L. Wright, 49, of Yorkville, IL passed away on February 15, 2022.  Rachel was born on May 18, 1972 in Winfield, IL to Milton and Cheryl (Bunnell) Larrabee.  

Rachel spent most of her professional career working for the City of Yorkville.  While employed she held several positions, but the most important was that of supporting members of the community and co-workers that also became friends.  In the summer of 2020, she was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma and her 16 years of loyal service had to come to an end.  She battled courageously and had a short window of remission before the cancer returned aggressively.  Ultimately, she passed from Covid peacefully with her family by her side.

Rachel was a loving daughter, wife, step-mother, sister and friend to many.  She loved a project, enjoyed cooking and baking, working outside, cheering for the Bears, and spending time with family and friends.  SHE TRULY LOVED MAKING THINGS LOOK BEAUTIFUL AND TOOK GREAT PRIDE IN MAKING PEOPLE FEEL BEAUTIFUL. 

She is survived by her husband, Edward Wright; 2 step children, Brandy and Coltyn Wright of Mendota, IL; Her mother, Cheryl of Leland, IL; sister, Rebecca (Tim) Woolsey of Plano, IL; brother, Phillip (Julie) Larrabee of Louisville, KY.  She is preceded in death by her father, Milton (2016).

A special acknowledgement to the doctors, nurses and staff who cared for Rachel.  Thanks to you she was able to fight the battle because of your knowledge and compassion.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 12:00 – 3:00 P.M. with a service to follow at 3 P.M. at Beverage Family Funeral Home, 104 Terry St. Sandwich, IL 60548.  Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Beverage Family Funeral Home.
