Susan Kathryn Cunz, 73, of Sandwich, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 in Yorkville, Illinois. 


Visitation: A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.

 

Susan was born In Aurora, Illinois to Fred and Betty L. (Sauber) Deutsch on April 10, 1950. She graduated from Madonna High School in 1968 (Aurora). She married Ronald R Cunz on January 23, 1971, at St Therese Catholic Church (N. Aurora). She started the Why Not Shop (macrame)in 1976, waitressed for Eric’s Restaurant and Rick’s Place from 1983-1998, and owner of Doggone Good Pet Supply for over 15 years. Sue also worked in the bakery for Walmart for many years as well.  She was involved in Paws with a Cause, and dog obedience training. 

 

Susan was also passionate about improving the lives of children by fostering and helping raise them for nearly 10 years. She was also an enthusiastic gardener of fruit and vegetables as well as flowers, especially her Canna Lilies.

 

Susan is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Betty Deutsch; brothers Kenneth, Jim, and Tom Deutsch. Susan is survived by her life partner and friend Ronald Cunz; Sons Clint (Julie) Cunz, Craig Cunz, Curtis (Stacey) Cunz, and Nicholas (Amelia) Deutsch; Daughters, Misty Pyle, Christy (Steve) Zeiter, Linda Cunz, Becky (Rob) Rydberg, and Cindy (Jeremiah) Johnson. She loved her 18 grandchildren, Caleb Cunz, Camryn Cunz, Caitlyn Cunz, Carter Cunz, Carson Pyle, Chloe Zeiter, Brooklynn Pyle, Maddie Zeiter, Natalia Munoz, Robbie Rydberg, Tyler Rydberg, Ava Cunz, Benjamin and Abi Johnson, Layla Hernandez, Christian Cunz, Bradley Deutsch, and Alaina Deutsch. She is also survived by 2 sisters, Deanna (Ron) Fidler and Patricia (Greg) Nowicki; As well as 2 brothers, John and Mike Deutsch.
