Wiley M. Updike

Wiley M. Updike, 91, of Sandwich, IL passed away on May 5, 2021 in the British Virgin Islands. Wiley was born on October 4, 1929 in Chicago, IL to Lester and Nora (Haag) Updike. He graduated from Sandwich High School in 1947. Wiley married Nancy Dauber on January 11, 1950 in Princeton, IL. He farmed his whole life in the community and was involved with the Sandwich Fairgrounds, since his teenage years to Board President. He always had a love for the fair and was a Rotarian.

Wiley is survived by his wife, Nancy; 2 children, Karen (Scott) Breunig and James (Lori) Updike; 1 niece, Beth Updike; As well as 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister, Caroleen.

Memorial gathering for Wiley will be held on Sunday, June 13, 2021 from 2-4 p.m. at the Sandwich Fairgrounds in the farm Zoo building. Please enter at Gate 3.
