William P. Lavin

William P Lavin, age 61, of Sugar Grove, IL, passed away on September 29, 2023, in Aurora, IL.

 

Bill was born in Oak Park, IL to William J Lavin and Rita Lee (Lampasona) on February 27, 1962. 

 

Bill went to school in Wheaton, IL and he graduated from Columbia College Chicago. Bill married Cathleen Burkhart from Medford, OR on March 10, 2006, in Lake Tahoe, CA. He worked as a Trainer for Unite Here Health for the last 10 years. He was heavily involved in the local Democratic Party and served as Chair of the NTDO, in Naperville Township. Bill also went through the Second City program for Improv in Chicago. He was a huge movie buff and a devoted Bears fan. He and his wife loved traveling and seeing live music. Bill was loved by all who met him. He never met a stranger who did not become a friend.  He will be greatly missed.

 

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, William and Rita Lavin. 

 

Bill is survived by his wife, Cathy, his sister Colleen Holtorf (Tom), his beloved Aunt Kay, (Ken), 1 Nephew and 4 nieces, and 10 Great-Nephews and Nieces.  Bill is also survived by his best friend since college, Rick Dale (Sue).
